Tenaga National Installs 4 Solar Panels For Malaysia Airlines


( Kuala Lumpur, 26th Sept 2020 ) Tenaga National (TENAGA, 5347, mainboard utility stock) renewable energy retail arm GSPARX has signed a contract with Malaysia Airlines to install 4 solar panels for the latter’s building in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).


According to a statement issued by Tenaga National today, Malaysia Airlines estimates that it can save 15 million ringgit in electricity bills within 21 years; these solar panels can produce up to 2.21 megawatts (MWp) and can produce 2.86 gigawatts (GWh) of clean energy throughout the year.


Guoneng added that this project is the largest installation project ever undertaken by GSPARX in a single location.


At the same time, TNB claims that the project will help Malaysia Airlines to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the long-term, and once completed in April next year, the clean energy generated can help reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2022 metric tons in the first year, or by about 5 until 2050. Million 6638 metric tons of emissions.


Tenaga National President and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan pointed out that this is equivalent to about 12,197 cars missing on the road, or 93,520 trees growing up.


In line with the recent updated goals, Tenaga National firmly hopes to become a leading supplier of sustainable energy solutions at home and abroad, and to stably build a renewable energy portfolio. The goal is to reach 1,700 MW of production capacity by 2025.
