Philippines - The Number of Confirmed Cases Has Greatly Increased



According to the Philippine "Rappler" news website, the Philippine Ministry of Health announced that after adding 284 confirmed cases in the country, a total of 4,932 cases have been diagnosed, temporarily surpassing Malaysia and becoming the most diagnosed country in Southeast Asia. The Philippine Ministry of Health also announced that there were 18 new deaths in the past 24 hours, with a cumulative death toll of 315 and a total of 242 discharged. In Southeast Asia, the death toll in the Philippines is second only to Indonesia (399). A research report from the University of the Philippines pointed out that the Philippine epidemic will peak from the end of April to June, and 140,000 to 550,000 people are expected to be infected in the capital ’s Manila region. As of 8 pm Malaysian time, there were 4,817 confirmed cases in Malaysia, of which 77 people died; 4557 confirmed cases in Indonesia and 2579 confirmed cases in Thailand.
