According to the Philippine "Rappler" news website, the Philippine Ministry of Health announced that after adding 284 confirmed cases in the country, a total of 4,932 cases have been diagnosed, temporarily surpassing Malaysia and becoming the most diagnosed country in Southeast Asia. In Southeast Asia, the death toll in the Philippines is second only to Indonesia (399). A research report from the University of the Philippines pointed out that the Philippine epidemic will peak from the end of April to June, and 140,000 to 550,000 people are expected to be infected in the capital ’s Manila region.
