( Paris, 27 May 2020) French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Tuesday that the government will invest 8 billion euros (about RM 37.759 billion ) to revive the country's car industry.
When Macron visited the Valeo production plant of the electric vehicle equipment supplier in the northeastern town of Etapule on the same day, he said that the 8 billion euros plan to revitalize the automobile industry includes subsidies for electric and hybrid vehicles, aimed at helping France in 2025 Annual production of 1 million environmentally friendly vehicles.
France owns car brands such as Renault, Citroen and Peugeot. Due to the impact of the new coronary pneumonia epidemic, the country ’s car sales in April fell by about 90% compared with the same period last year.
