COVID-19 - Global Epidemic Exceeded 400,000 Deaths


( 5th June 2020 ) According to official data compiled by Agence France-Presse, as of 7:00 pm GMT on the 7th (3 a.m. Malaysia on the 8th), at least 400,581 people worldwide died of coronavirus disease, with more than 6,694,890 cases diagnosed .


Since the epidemic broke out in China in December last year, the global death toll from infection has doubled in the past month and a half, and it has now spread to 196 countries and regions.


Agence France-Presse collected data from national authorities and the World Health Organization (WHO) to make statistics, but the above figures may only reflect part of the total number of infections, because many countries only detect symptoms or severe cases.


According to reports, the United States, the world’s worst epidemic, has a total of 111,370 deaths in the country, with a total of 19.20894 cases diagnosed and at least 500,000 849 people recovering.


The number of deaths in the UK is second only to the United States in the world, with a total of 40,542 deaths and 286,194 diagnosed cases.

Other severely affected areas include Brazil (35,930 deaths, 672,846 confirmed cases), Italy (33,899 deaths, 234,998 confirmed cases), and France (29,155 deaths, 190,974 confirmed cases).


In China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau), 4,634 deaths have been reported, and a total of 83,036 cases have been diagnosed.


From a regional perspective, a total of 2.2755091 cases were diagnosed in Europe and 1803536 deaths; a total of 202.3763 cases were diagnosed in the United States and Canada and 117.8855 deaths; a total of 129.8891 cases and 64.219 deaths were confirmed in Latin America and the Caribbean .


A total of 680,44 cases were diagnosed in Asia, with 19,244 deaths; a total of 472,822 cases were diagnosed in the Middle East, and 14,492 deaths; a total of 185,247 cases were diagnosed in Africa, 5074 deaths; a total of 8640 cases were diagnosed in Oceania, and 131 deaths.
