( Hong Kong, 2nd August 2020 ) The third wave of new coronary pneumonia in Hong Kong is severe. Zhang Zhujun, director of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health, announced this afternoon (August 2) that there were 115 new confirmed cases in Hong Kong, all of which were confirmed locally, with a total of 3,512 cases.
This is also the 12th consecutive day that Hong Kong has over 100 new diagnoses in a single day.
Zhang said that 79 of the confirmed cases were related to the previous group, of which 58 were infected through a gathering of relatives and friends, and the source of the other 36 was unknown.
The Chief Administrative Manager (Patient Safety and Risk Management) of the Hospital Authority, He Wanxia, said that a total of 34 confirmed patients have passed away in public hospitals so far.
